Today is not just a day of remembrance. It is a day of reckoning — with the cost of freedom, the burden of sacrifice, and the courage of families who wake up each day with someone missing at their table so that the rest of us can enjoy ours in peace.

To the families of the fallen: there are no words sufficient for your grief, and no repayment worthy of your loss. But there is gratitude — endless, unshakable gratitude — from those of us who live free because of what your loved ones gave.

America owes its greatness not to our wealth, not to our politics, but to the valor of those who were willing to give everything for something bigger than themselves. Your sacrifice made us the greatest nation on Earth — and that is a debt we can never repay, only honor.

On this Memorial Day, I stand in reverence. Not as a politician. Not even as a candidate. But as a citizen, a father, a free man — because of them.
